Dedicated Instance

Some organisations need the cloud without the compromises of a shared platform: public sector bodies, financial services firms, legal practices, healthcare providers. Webex Calling Dedicated Instance gives each customer its own instance of Cisco's calling platform, built on the Unified Communications Manager architecture and run by Cisco. That includes call control, voicemail, presence and Expressway, all hosted in Cisco's data centres.

For UK customers, Dedicated Instance runs in Cisco's London and Manchester data centres as a resilient pair. Where it's connected matters as much as where it's hosted. Dedicated Instance can be reached privately rather than over the internet, and Cisco requires redundant connections to two data centres to do it. Making that work takes peering, routing and network skills, and that's where we're unusually well placed.

We run our own network, with our own autonomous system and a presence on Equinix Fabric, which Cisco uses for private connections to Dedicated Instance. So we can set up the private, resilient connection between your customer's network and their Dedicated Instance ourselves. It can run over our Ethernet circuits, so one supplier is responsible for the platform and the path to it. For customers moving from an on-premises Unified Communications Manager, it's a familiar architecture in a new home. They can move at their own pace, and much of what they've built carries across.
